What is a step tile roll forming machine?
A step tile roll forming machine is a production line that forms PPGI coated steel coils into stepped glazed metal roof tiles. Unlike a plain roofing sheet machine, it includes a dedicated pressing unit that stamps the tile-step pattern into the sheet, producing decorative stone-coated-style tiles used on villas, theaters and exhibition centers.

How fast does a step tile roll forming machine run?
The working speed is approximately 5–6 m/min including the pressing and cutting time, driven by a 5.5 kW main motor with about 18 forming stands (final stand count depends on the profile design).

What components does the complete line include?
The complete line includes: a manual or electric decoiler (5 t capacity), guiding unit, roll forming system with about 18 stands, pressing unit, hydraulic stop-and-cut unit with Cr12MoV tool-steel blades, a 7.5 kW hydraulic power unit, a PLC control system (Delta from Taiwan or Mitsubishi from Japan), and two non-powered run-out tables totaling 3 meters.

How is a step tile machine different from a regular corrugated roofing machine?
The key difference is the pressing unit: corrugated machines only roll-form a continuous wave or trapezoidal profile, while a step tile machine adds a hydraulic pressing stage that stamps discrete tile steps into the sheet, and it runs pre-painted thinner material (0.4–0.5 mm) for decorative roofing.

Can the machine be customized?
Yes. Zhongyuan (Hangzhou Zhongyuan Machinery Factory) has designed custom roll forming equipment since 2003. Machine layout, tile profile, coil width and automation level are engineered from the customer's drawings and market requirements, with roller tooling produced in-house.
